Caroline is ONE!

Caroline turned one on March 1, 2014.
As with all of our outdoor photo shoots, it was very cold, and Caroline likes to be in a climate-controlled environment.
Once inside, Caroline was too distracted by her fun bedroom to sit and smile for the camera.
We had a fun time celebrating the special day with Daddy and Grandparents.
It took a while for Caroline to try her cake, but once she did, she ate a full third of it.
After the party was over and everyone went home, we went to the park and enjoyed the swing and slide.

On a non-birthday note, Caroline got to cheer on the Yellow Jackets in the last game of the season.
And, the following picture was just too cute. (She loves chalk.)

The Last Month of Babyhood

Sadly, I did not keep very good records of Caroline's last month as a baby.
Caroline had a rough 11 month birthday. It started with me introducing shoes and ended with a too-late photo shoot.
She didn't understand why I wanted her to sit when all her toys were on the ground.
Caroline got her very first Valentine card, and we survived yet another snowstorm.
Luckily, we were at home this time.
Caroline also got to visit one of her great-grandmothers in North Carolina.

SnowJam 2014

Caroline,

At 10 months, you can really, truly walk!! You have been standing independently since before Christmas, and you have taken the occasional couple steps here and there, but now you are walking everywhere! You now wear your helmet only during nap and bed time.

Your daily routine at school includes playing downstairs with Ms. Roopal and listening in on her reading lessons from 8:30-10:00, a stroll and nap from 10:00-11:00, playtime and lunch from 11:00-12:00, group/story from 12:00-12:45, and a second stroll/nap from 1:20-2:00. You copy sounds when they are said to you and you walk around growling and saying ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.

You and I just came home from two nights at the St. Regis, Buckhead during the great snowstorm of 2014. The beautiful surroundings did not keep us from missing Daddy, and we FaceTimed with him several times a day.

You drink from a glass, eat EVERYTHING, and wow our friends by enjoying picked jalapeƱos and raw horseradish.

We love you so!!!

Our 2nd attempt at 10 month pictures. (Remember the beach photo shoot??!)
Caroline loves spicy food!!
Caroline got very good at drinking from a cup!
Fun at The Marlowe School
We didn't take a chance on the road during SnowJam 2014. One look at the road conditions, and Caroline and I decided to rough it at the motel across the street.
I was slightly disturbed by the red light in the bathroom mirror, but then I discovered the mirror was really a TV.
One way or another, I think the St. Regis has found a lifelong fan in Caroline.
