Caroline's First Summer Vacation

On the last day of school, right before we headed out for our summer vacation, my brother who lives in Texas brought his three children over to visit. His oldest daughter was so sweet and loved all over Caroline. It's hard to believe, but I was just a year older than she is when she was born. I remember visiting her for the first time and loving on her the same way. :)
We started our Florida vacation with a visit to Fort Caroline.
Once we got to Miami, we had a lovely time hanging out by Alex's pool.
We made the requisite stop at Key Biscayne for a picnic and quick dip in the water.
We had a grand time hanging out on Alex's boat.
Naturally, the kids were perfectly happy before we took out the camera.

We left Florida and headed up the coast for a Gallegos family reunion.
My mother's side of the family is HUGE -- she is one of eleven!
This is only about half of us and does not include my two brothers and their families.
Four generations of former, current, and future (???) Montessori teachers. :)
After visiting with my mom's mother, we headed to Tennessee to visit with my dad and and his father.
Whew! After a whirlwind of travel, we were ready to be home and recover from our vacation.
